ITS BV, or Innovative Technical Solutions BV, develops night-vision, infrared and sensor-fusion camera systems for specialist users. We develop specialised, bespoke electronics for demanding clients in the defence, security and policing sectors, as well as in industrial automation and the medical industry. We are a fast-growing organisation and are looking to expand our team with a VHDL Hardware Engineer.

As part of a team of hardware and software developers, you will collaborate on the development of client-specific electronics and embedded software. Such a development project covers the entire process, from drawing up the functional specifications, through the technical design and implementation, right up to the validation of a prototype.

As a VHDL Hardware Engineer

  • You have solid knowledge and experience of VHDL and FPGAs. Preferably Intel (Altera) FPGAs and therefore Quartus.
  • You find it challenging to solve complex technical problems efficiently? You contribute ideas to the design and implementation of the technical capabilities of our bespoke cameras.
  • You will be technically responsible for the hardware you develop.
  • During the quotation stage, you will be involved in calculating the man-hours and production costs for new projects. You will draw up a schedule and ensure that your work is completed within the budgeted hours.
  • You will liaise with clients on technical matters.

What are we looking for?

  • A completed technical higher professional education (HBO) degree.
  • Several years’ experience in hardware development, VHDL and FPGAs.
  • An affinity with (some of) the following areas of knowledge and technology: digital and analogue interface techniques, RF interface techniques, EMC, power supply circuits, microcontrollers and application processors, DDRx memory interfacing and control, schematic capture and PCB design (Altium), high-speed PCB design techniques, and the C programming language.
  • Perseverance, good communication skills and a ‘we’ll sort that out’ attitude are essential.
  • Knowledge of cameras and optoelectronics is a major advantage.

What do we offer?

With us, you’ll find a challenging, independent role with scope for personal development within an organisation characterised by short lines of communication and an informal working atmosphere. Naturally, you’ll receive an excellent salary, and we offer a competitive package of employment conditions in line with the level of the role, including 25 days’ annual leave. A comprehensive induction period and thorough support are a given.

You’ll be working in an environment where teamwork and learning from one another form the basis of our approach. Thanks to an interesting mix of new technologies and challenging projects, you’re guaranteed an engaging role in which you can develop to your full potential.
